Who is Preoccupied Bride?

Hi there! My name is Maya Devassy Tarach, and I am the owner of (and original) Preoccupied Bride. 🙂
My creative nature and skills as a former project manager made wedding and event planning extra appealing to me, but it was planning my Indian-Polish wedding from start to finish in 2016 that sealed the deal to become a full-time wedding planner for other engaged couples. Over the span of 8 years, I planned several weddings and brought peace of mind to engaged couples during their wedding planning journey because I understand the excitement and anxiety couples face in the midst of wedding planning.
I am passionate about helping engaged couples plan their wedding day by providing digital templates and consulting advice based on my experience because knowledge is power and every couple deserves to have the wedding day of their dreams—regardless of if they hire a wedding planner or not. If planning a wedding feels out of your realm of expertise and you’re overwhelmed with all the tasks and details involved, reach out! Couples enjoy working with me because of my experience, professionalism, detail orientation, organization, kind attitude and forthright demeanor about their ideas, design and wedding budget.
My goal is to help you prepare as much as possible before your wedding, so everything goes right on your wedding day and you can enjoy one of the most special days of your life.
On a More Personal Note

I love traveling – Montreal, Denver, Las Vegas and The Big Island were some of my favorite highlights in 2025, and I am thrilled to visit Mexico City and Barcelona in 2026!
I have a huge sweet tooth – Homemade chocolate chip cookies… enough said.
I appreciate good TV – Catastrophe and Stranger Things are repeat shows.
I love listening to crime podcasts – I am a fan of Anatomy of Murder.
I enjoy a good cocktail – A French 75 is a current favorite.
I will stay up all night to finish reading a book if I am hooked – A good mystery-thriller is my preferred genre and a recent read I liked was Look Closer by David Ellis.
My Outlook on Wedding Planning

This may be difficult to read, but things can and will go wrong on your wedding day. However, it’s important to remember the big picture: If you get married on your wedding day, that is, you and your partner get to recite your love and vows to each other—your wedding is an automatic success. Nothing, not even all the wedding details you’ve planned for months on end, is more important than sealing the love between you and your partner through the life-long commitment of marriage.
If you two can keep this outlook in mind throughout the wedding planning process and not let the details cloud the reason why you’re getting married in the first place, I am certain I can help you, in whatever capacity you like, plan your dream wedding!
