5 Wedding Transportation Tips

Wedding Tranportation Tips

Wedding season is already upon us and guest blogger Alan James weighs in on tips every couple should consider for their wedding day transportation.

The transportation at your wedding has great bearing on how smoothly the day runs. Whether you’re searching for a limousine, party bus, exotic vehicle or charter bus, there’s some information you should know before choosing your wedding transportation. Here are 5 tips to consider in your search for Chicago transportation:

Consider the accessibility of transportation websites in your initial search.

It might seem like common sense to check out reviews of transportation companies, but there’s another step you can take that’s very helpful. When you’re checking out the online presence of potential transportation providers in Chicago, you’re going to want to make sure that information is easily accessible. Does the website look like it was made at the turn of the century? If so, you might want to move on to the next choice.

Ask the transportation company if you can schedule a viewing of the vehicle.

Transparent companies that allow you to view the vehicle before placing a deposit are definitely the ideal companies to choose. It gives you a lot of comfort knowing that you’ve already experienced what will be at your wedding. Meeting with the company in person is the perfect opportunity to discuss any important details about the wedding day.

If you only need a few hours of transportation, ask about wedding packages.

Some weddings only need transportation for a few hours for photos or shuttling. If you think you’re only going to need transportation for a few hours, ask if there are any special wedding packages. This allows you to customize your transportation experience, and it’s a great way to make things a little bit cheaper in the long run.

Gauge the transportation company’s experience with your wedding day destinations.

If the driver hasn’t been to the destinations on your itinerary, extra time can easily be added to the trips—regardless of the chauffeur’s experience. It’s a good idea to print out a list of destinations and venues that you may plan on visiting (with pictures included) and bring them to your viewing of the vehicle appointment so everyone is on the same page.

Make sure the transportation company’s price is all-inclusive or completely transparent.

Nobody wants to be surprised with fees and charges they weren’t expecting, especially on your wedding day. If a price seems too good to be true that’s probably the case! Many transportation companies will advertise a low price only to charge you for tip, tax and fuel when they process your credit card. Getting a sample contract is a good way to be completely informed about their practices and pricing.
