Whether you’re newly engaged and just starting the venue hunt, or you’ve known for years the location you want to have your wedding, it’s important to take into consideration several factors when choosing the right venue for your wedding. Besides the obvious (cost), below are five major factors to consider for the wedding venue you choose to host your special day.
Ambiance
The style and décor of the venue is high priority on the list of factors to consider when choosing a venue for your wedding. If you choose a venue with a beautiful design that matches the type of wedding you want to have, you won’t need to spend as much of your finances on décor, which can be a significant portion of the overall budget.
Layout
A venue can look gorgeous, but is it also functional? The layout, floor plan and capacity of the venue will significantly impact the logistics and flow of traffic for your wedding, so it’s important to note things like the location of bathrooms, bars and outlets for equipment as well as how many guests will be attending and if they will comfortably fit.
Amenities
Are tables, chairs and linen included? Does the venue have an onsite kitchen? Is there a coordinator and/or crew to help with setup and cleanup? It’s important to know what’s included in a venue’s rental fee besides renting the actual space. Big or small, amenities can make all the difference.
Location
A convenient location can mean a lot of things. For example, if your wedding will include a lot of out of town guests, a venue near an airport or hotels will be helpful. If the venue is in a location where it’s hard or expensive to park, a space that offers complimentary valet parking or a shuttle service is a plus.
Parking
Parking may not be important to everyone, but it’s definitely a nice touch to have it. Does the venue have a private parking lot, valet, street parking or no parking? If parking is not available, you may need to consider alternatives like renting shuttle transportation, reserving parking lots nearby or encouraging rideshare and spreading the word about it.

It caught my attention when you said that it will be helpful to choose a wedding location that is near the airport and hotels. This would be a good tip for my sister since she is getting married this year. She said that she wanted all her guests to not experience any hassle getting into the wedding venue, so she will surely consider your tips.
Thank you! Glad this was helpful. Her guests will appreciate it! 🙂
