I am thrilled to announce that the ChicagoStyle Weddings Designer’s Challenge is finally live! The new magazine issue was revealed last week, and I couldn’t be happier with how my styled shoot, Fresh Rustic Romance, turned out.

My Vision
I wanted to have a styled shoot at a unique venue whose primary role was to not host weddings but certainly could. I visited a variety of venues, including museums, park districts and more, but the moment I saw the bocci ball courts private event space at Pinstripes Northbrook, I knew that was the space I wanted to host my shoot. It was gorgeous, both rustic & chic, and an indoor space with the benefits of feeling outdoors. The wood beams, strung lights and floor-to-ceiling glass garage windows that open up to an outdoor patio inspired me to do a natural and cheerful color palette of shades of yellow, green, white and brown. I’m a huge fan of yellow and lemons (as strange as that may sound), and I wanted the design to be bright, earthy and classy. That color palette, along with the lemon theme, was my vision for a fresh spring or summer wedding.

Vote For Us
I am thrilled to have worked with a talented vendor team who was amazing, collaborative and open to my design from the very beginning. I am beyond excited with how our design turned out and am thankful to be a part of the Designer’s Challenge along with my fellow planners Glamour & Lace, Lillian Rose Events and Wedicity Wedding & Event Detailing. Check out my design, Fresh Rustic Romance, and vote for us!
